New Features
- Support for Broadcom NICs in sniffing appliances
SUPPORT FOR BROADCOM NICS IN SNIFFING APPLIANCES
This release adds official support to Broadcom NIC cards based on the bnxt_en driver. While sniffing appliances using such NICs were supported in standard "compatibility mode" with reduced performance, starting with this release sniffing appliances will be able to leverage hardware acceleration to achieve better throughputs.
This new feature was tracked internally as FEAT-7205
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- PLTF-3001: Shorten HA virtual IP label suffix to support interface names of up to 10 characters. This issue would cause the VIP to be unreachable only in certain installations when the interface name is longer than expected. The issue only affects installations that are running a software version between 9.4 and 9.5.1, AND are using the Bionic Ubuntu distribution.
- PLTF-2994: Fix parsing of network interfaces in the status reporter on appliances that are using bonded network interfaces.
- SENT-3265: Fix to an issue where the third party netflow ingestion would not be automatically started at boot when the integration is enabled.
- PLTF-2992: Fix bug that could result in incorrect handling of home network configuration in event processing pipeline for sensors that are part of a sensor group.
- USER-5639: This tickets fixes the 404 error when user try to access manuals in on-prem UI.
- LLAM-8420: Fixed sandbox images download issue primarily affecting customers with proxies.
Deprecation of API Methods
No additional API methods are being deprecated or discontinued in this release.
The Lastline API documentation includes a deprecation schedule for methods in the legacy API, as well as information on how to replace usage of these deprecated methods with supported methods.

As part of this release, we are making available the following versions of Lastline appliances for use with Lastline Enterprise On-Premises:
- Lastline Manager version 1120.2
- Lastline Engine version 1120.2
- Lastline Data Node version 1120.2
- Lastline Sensor version 1301
- Lastline All-in-one (Pinbox) version 1120.2
Released Sandbox Images Versions
The sandbox images version will remain at 2021-06-25-01.
Distribution Upgrade
Version 9.4.5 was the final version to support Ubuntu Xenial as our operating system distribution. In order to upgrade to 9.5.2, you must be running Bionic as the operating system distribution.
You can check the distribution in use by an appliance in the Appliance Status view of the portal. The "Base Distribution" listed should be "bionic". If it is "xenial", the appliance distribution needs to be upgraded.
