Host labels tab

You can label and optionally silence any host.

Note:

Any detections regarding a silenced IP address range or host are not displayed and email notifications are not generated. However, the event is still detected and logged.

Use the Host labels tab to view and modify the labeled hosts.

Filter the displayed list. In the Sensor category, select a License, either a specific license or All licenses, from the pull-down menu. Next select a Sensor, either a specific sensor/sensor group or All sensors from the pull-down menu.

To set a new host label, click the plus button.

The Label/Silence host list includes the following fields:

Label

The label for the host entry.

Click the sort icon to sort the list by label.

Sensor

The sensor or sensor group containing the host label entry.

Click the sort icon to sort the list by sensor.

IP address

The IP address for the labeled host.

Click the sort icon to sort the list by IP address.

Silenced

Indicates if the labeled host is silenced.

Click the sort icon to sort the list by silenced.

Actions

Click edit to edit the host label.

Click delete to delete the host label.

Create a host label entry

Provide the following:

  • Select a License, either a specific license or All licenses, from the pull-down menu.

  • Select a Sensor, either a specific sensor or a sensor group from the pull-down menu. If you select an individual sensor from a sensor group or All sensors, you will get an error.

  • Enter an IP address in the IP address field.

  • Enter a Host label. This is a text string.

  • Optionally click the silence host checkbox if you want to silence this host.

When you have completed all the fields, click Save host label redo .

Edit a host label entry

This populates the entry fields with the values from the selected host label entry. You can only change the Host label or toggle the silence host checkbox . Make your changes then click Update host label redo .
