File submission page
The File submission page allows you to submit one or more samples to the VMware backend for analysis.
Drag and drop a file onto the icon. Alternatively, click the Or choose files button to use the operating system file dialog to select a file.
The VMware NSX Network Detection and Response provides analysis for a number of file types including:

Executable — Windows binary program formats such as Portable Executable

PDF — Portable Document Format files
-
Document — Various types of Microsoft Office documents

Archive — Archive formats such as ZIP or RAR

Java — Java application or applet
-
Media — Macromedia (Adobe) Flash file
For a complete list of the file types that the are accepted for analysis, refer to Supported artifacts.
For Hosted installations, the maximum supported uploaded file size is 64 MB. This is the default file size for On-Premises installations. You can increase this to 100 MB.
Advanced options
Set advanced file submission options for new files. These options are also applied to existing files that have been queued but are yet to be submitted.
Provide the following options:

Filename — Name to use for the submitted sample. If blank, the name of the uploaded file is used.

Password — Password to use to unpack encrypted files.
Click the Set as default button to use the current options as the default.
Submission queue
As soon as you drag-and-drop or select a file, the Submit all and Remove all buttons are activated. The file is added to the submission queue list, which includes the following fields:
- Filename

The filename of the file to be submitted.
- Size
-
The size of the file in MB.
- Status & progress

The status of the file submission is displayed. The status changes from Queued to Uploaded to Analyzed.
- Score

The score the VMware NSX Network Detection and Response gave to the file submission. Initially, the score is N/A until the system is able to process the upload.
- Actions

Click the Submit button to submit an individual file submission. Click the Remove button to delete the submission from the queue.
Click the Submit all to submit the files to the VMware backend.
