Audit log tab

The Audit log tab allows you to view the access and actions of the users of the User Portal.

At the top of the page is the portal settings widget.

Filters

An easy-to-use filtering mechanism is provided that allows you to focus on the information that you are interested in. Click the plus icon to expand the Filters widget.

Note:

The use of filters is optional.

You can apply filters to the audit log list. Filters can be combined. Select an item to Filter by from the pull-down menu. Select from Account Names, Action Types, Affected Customers, Entity, Entity Types, Event ID, or Source IPs.

Delete an individual filter by clicking the Remove minus button. Click Reset to clear a filter.

Click Apply reload to apply the selected filters.

List

The quick search field above the list provides fast, as-you-type search. It filters the rows in the list, displaying only those rows that have text, in any field, that matches the query string.

The columns to be displayed in the list can be customized by clicking the additional content icon.

Customize the number of rows to be displayed. The default is 20 entries. Use the left arrow (back) and right arrow (forward) icons to navigate through multiple pages.

Each row is a summary of an audit log entry. Click the plus icon (or anywhere on an entry row) to expand the entry.

The audit log list is sorted by timestamp and includes the following fields:

Timestamp

Indicates the time the audit event was posted. The time is shown in the currently selected timezone.

Client IP

The IP address of the host the user account used to access the User Portal.

Click the sort icon in the list header to sort the appliances by client IP.

Account

The user account that created the logged event.

Click the sort icon in the list header to sort the appliances by account.

Customer

The account owner.

Click the sort icon in the list header to sort the appliances by customer.

Entity

The object that was changed. This is usually a user account, the same as the Account. Alternatively, it may be logging the creation of a new license.

Click the sort icon in the list header to sort the appliances by entity.

Event category

The category of the audit event.

Click the sort icon in the list header to sort the appliances by event category.

Event description

The description of the audit event.

Click the sort icon in the list header to sort the appliances by event description.

Audit event information

The Audit event information view is expanded within the audit log list. It displays the following data for the selected entry:

  • Timestamp The time the audit event was logged.

  • Severity The security score of the audit event.

  • Client IP The IP address of the host the user account used to access the User Portal.

  • Account The user account that created the logged event.

  • Customer The account owner.

  • Entity The object that was changed.

  • Entity type The type of operation that triggered the audit event.

  • Event category The category of the audit event.

  • Event name The internal name of the audit event.

  • Event description The description of the audit event.

Some audit log events have a Parameters list. The parameters are a Key and Value list.
